We are a family of five — two parents, three children — and uMadeUs is what we built together.
We did not start in California. We came here, like many before us, with a few suitcases and the conviction that good work, done honestly, eventually finds its audience. The first uMadeUs product was sketched on the back of a takeout menu at the kitchen table of our first apartment. The second was a fix for something we'd been frustrated by in the first.
Today the same five of us still gather around the same table at the end of the day, and we still argue about products. The youngest is now old enough to design her own; the oldest is old enough to push back on his parents' ideas. We've grown a small business that lets us work side-by-side, and we've kept it small on purpose. uMadeUs is our family's living, and the foundation we're building for the children to come after us.
What we make
A focused lineup today, organized by what we'd want in our own home: detail kits for the family car, refillable bottles for the bathroom counter, magnetic blocks for the kids' room, retro consoles for the weekend, an American flag for the porch on the Fourth, a cooler for the lake. Each one passes the same test: would we put it on our own counter? If not, it doesn't make it onto the website.
Where we make it
Some products are designed here in California and produced through trusted partners abroad. Others are made closer to home. All of them are inspected, packed, and shipped by us, by hand, from California.
Why we make it
Because we have always believed that goods worth keeping are worth making well. We come from humble beginnings, and we are building uMadeUs to last — both the brand, and the family behind it.
